Dear brothers and sisters:
There is a saying that “good is rewarded and evil is punished.” Many of us are familiar with this saying, which serves as a moral concept for many people. However, when we think more about it, the concept seems to emphasize how individuals should act for their own good, rather than focusing on the greater benefit of the world. In our previous Bible studies, our discussions revolved around the concepts of “sin” and “faith”. This week, our topic will be on “salvation”. God’s love for us is not only shown when we act righteously, but even when we sin. We are all sinners who are not worthy of His love, yet He sent us his one and only beloved son Jesus so that we may be freed from the shackles of our sins. In the book of Ephesians, we are told that “it is by grace [we] have been saved, through faith—and this is not from [ourselves], it is the gift of God.” The Lord has prepared a bright path for us before we even knew Him, and it is through Jesus Christ that we will find it. Therefore, we sincerely hope that through this week’s discussion, we will understand His love and salvation better.
